The Conference aims at addressing the general thematic area of Language in a changing world from a number of different angles of approach. The multiple changes that have been realized in today's fast-moving globalized world have had a strong impact on language, reflected in a variety of aspects i.e. literature, social and cultural issues, communication, technology and civilization in general. Drawing upon the various changes that constantly materialize throughout the world, the conference is meant to explore new perspectives with reference to the way(s) such changes have influenced all aspects of language in general and specific languages, in particular. Prospective participants are invited to contribute studies in the fields of theoretical and applied linguistics, technology, literature, translation as well as in the area of sociology, ethnology and anthropology. Hence, links between different areas within and across these fields are strongly encouraged.

Language in a changing world may be examined in relation to the suggested topics below (the list not beingexhaustive):
- The teaching of a Second/ Foreign Language: linguistic and teaching approaches.
- New methods in the teaching of linguistic levels (Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Lexicon).
- The contribution of technology to the teaching of foreign languages.- The literary text in the teaching of a foreign language.
- Translation and Foreign Language Teaching.- Language and Communication.- Language and technology.- Language and sex.- The language of the young people.- Language variation and language change.- Language and Civilization.- Cultural factors and their impact on language.- Ethnic minorities and language.- Language and globalization.- Literature and language.- Language Testing.
