Al-Andalus: Cultural Diffusion and Hybridity in Iberia (1000-1600)
An interdisciplinary conference on the culture, literature, language and history of the Iberian Peninsula.There will be 18 papers given in sessions organized around the invited lectures. Under the general theme of the conference ''Cultural Diffusion and Hybridity,'' the session topics will focus on:Iberia: Cultures in ContactSystems of Thought in IberiaReligious Representations in IberiaAl-Andalus, Sefarad, and BeyondLanguage and Social Interactions in IberiaHybridity and Appropriation in Visual and Literary Representations Proposals for session papers related to the above topics should be submitted by October 30, 2006, to the Organizing Committee, in the form of a detailed abstract (500 words or more) or full paper. Papers must be read in English.
