English The main objective of this conference is to gather researchers and teachers in an exchange on recent research in the field and its implications for the language classroom. Two types of proposals, talks and workshops, on one of the following topics will be considered: Second and Foreign language acquisition Analysis of didactic materials for teaching SFL: What geolectal variety to use in text books? The teaching of grammar in SFL classes. Language and culture: How to teach culture in SFL classes? Norms and linguistic variation in SFL classes New perspectives on the teaching of SFL New technologies: CALL applied to SFL classes The proposal must include: 1. Personal information: Title of the proposal and type (talk or workshop) Name and affiliation of the author Mailing address of the institution Telephone number Fax number Email address 2. A 100 to 150 words outline of the paper to be presented in Spanish and translated into English or French. 3. Description of equipment necessary for your presentation (projector, computer, VHS, etc.) Please, send your proposals by email to the coordinator of the event, Luis Ochoa, lochoa@alcor.concordia.ca, before January 15, 2008. All the presentations (talk or workshops) will last one hour and will include a time for questions and discussion. Authors will be notified in February 2008 if their proposals have been accepted.
