Teresa Herrera, Allegheny College, therrera@allegheny.edu
- Disease in Nineteenth-Century Spain.
The nineteenth century is known as ¿the century of the great epidemics,¿ and writers of the times reflect the importance of disease by incorporating it in their works as part of the associative and imagistic rhetoric that forms part of the milieu in which characters are formed. The papers in this panel will explore how disease is used and the role it plays in identifying the pathogens affecting nineteenth-century Spanish society. Anne W. Gilfoil, The University of Virginia's College at Wise, awg2d@uvawise.edu
Kyra A. Kietrys, Davidson College, kykietrys@davidson.edu
