Kennesaw State University invites applications for an Online Lecturer of Spanish, with a focus on proficiency-based instruction of language and culture.
Responsibilities include teaching mainly online lower-division language courses with a 4/5 teaching load for the academic year. The position also requires some program-related service commitments such as organizing co-curricular activities, program recruitment, and limited committee work.
Commitment to excellence in teaching is expected by all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The ideal candidate would demonstrate both experience in effective online course development and the integration of current ACTFL standards in their instruction, and have an interest in developing co-curricular activities such as program coordination, faculty workshops and student support.
Minimum required qualifications:
- An earned master’s degree or Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Spanish with a specialization in literature, linguistics, or pedagogy, completed by time of application. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
- Documented record of experience in teaching undergraduate-level Spanish courses in face-to-face and online environments.
- Evidence of teaching and working effectively in a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
