Kennesaw State University invites applications for a Lecturer of Spanish, with a focus on proficiency-based language and culture. Responsibilities include teaching mainly lower-division language courses. The position also requires some program-related service commitments such as organizing co-curricular activities, program recruitment, and limited committee work. The normal teaching load is 4/5 for the academic year.
Commitment to excellence in teaching is expected by all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Minimum required qualifications:
- An earned master’s degree or Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Spanish with a specialization in literature, linguistics, or pedagogy, completed by time of application; Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
- Documented record of experience in teaching undergraduate-level Spanish courses in face-to-face and online environments.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in the Department of Foreign Languages.
- An interest in developing co-curricular activities such as Spanish Club, Conversation Tables and/or events such as film screenings and guest lectures.
